 Quality Control Specialist - Dallas Center, IA

As a valued team member, you will make an impact not only within our Dallas Center Campus but also Internationally by performing quality audits to ensure our product complies to our standards, ensuring our product can be shipped throughout the world. When the facility audits are completed, you will work in our quality system program to ensure all SOPs, programs, and policies are up to date for the various departments. 

The opportunity to be in the quality department allows you to see our products' lifecycle. To meet our goals, you will need to be a detail-oriented self-starter that can think out of the box, familiar with root cause analysis, able to train employees, organized, believe in the company’s vision and mission, and have knowledge in internal and external auditing, ability to work with Microsoft word, excel, other computer programs, and Bilingual is highly desired.

 Molecular Genetics and Genomics Lab Manager - Dallas Center, IA

Hy-Line International is searching for an experienced Animal Biology, Genetics, or Poultry PhD for an
exciting opportunity as Manager of the Genomics and Molecular Genetics laboratory at our Dallas
Center, Iowa Campus. This position is part of a succession plan. The successful candidate will first
collaborate with the current head to acquire a deep familiarization with the Hy-Line R&D program and the R&D programs of the sister companies of Hy-Line. After a transition period, they will take over full responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the genomics program, ensuring that sample collection and genotype delivery is
    completed for genomic selection. Continual improvement and implementation of cost-effective
    genotyping methods
  2. Directing the molecular genetics program, identification of relevant genes and variants.
    Supervision of molecular genetics laboratory, and full responsibility for all laboratory outcomes.
  3. Interact with scientists within academic and government institutions and develop active and
    productive collaborations.


  1. Recent PhD in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Genetics, or related field.
  2. Knowledge of Animal Biology
  3. Experience in molecular biology and genomics, including DNA extraction, PCR, sequence analysis and bioinformatics.

Personal Attributes:

  1. Proficient in both spoken and written English
  2. Excellent communication skills for both scientists and non-technical professionals
  3. Ability to explain advanced concepts to non-scientists (customers)
  4. Able to collaborate with a diverse team of geneticists and participate in problem solving
  5. Able to manage and direct a highly capable laboratory team
  6. Results driven and innovative mindset
